Small but really very BRIGHT.

When you order this, your first impulse is "Hmmm. Small. Not enough light. Should have probably picked up a few more." Don't listen to that voice, they don't know what they're talking about. So for a rough coverage area with ONE light, a standard sized garage = 1 light. I have a two car garage ie = 2 lights Actually 1.5 bulbs would be ideal but one would have to go bad I say 2 lights the garage is burning Their blades are adjustable up and down A great feature unless you are considering a window in Her garage. To soften the light a little, I'm not kidding, they are bright, I tilted the bright petals a bit towards the walls. Around 2am I received a call from an angry neighbor when I unknowingly pointed out what she thought was a "newly installed security spotlight" outside and asked if I could turn it down as the light flooded her bedroom blinds. I apologized and switched off sc soon all the lights go out again. I had two twin bulb fluorescent lights in my garage that I replaced with two of these. Not only are they at least a hundred times brighter, they also function regardless of temperature, whereas fluorescent lights become temperamental over time in the cold. The kit contains a simple lamp with a socket. Although they look tiny on the ceiling, they illuminate the entire garage with clean, bright white light. The ability to tilt the slats up is great if you think it's useful. If you mount one of these on a portable generator mount, you have a headlight. I wouldn't hook them up to a motion activated switch for a security light unless you can see your neighbor's house.
