I didn't want remote control candles because the batteries run out very quickly. I hope they last 400 hours before replacing them. As others have said they look like real wax candles but are battery operated. You are bright! And the color is a warm, realistic glow. Like the others, one of the 6 candles did not work or was not lit. The switch was bad. I ordered 2 sets but I only need 10 candles so I don't lose sleep if one doesn't work. If you need 12 candles, be aware that you probably only need 10. If none of these work, that's because you didn't remove the activation tag below. They turn off automatically for 18 hours and on for 5 hours every day.
