Review on Marshall Small Animal Bear Rug: Cozy 24x20 inch Fleece Bed and Tunnel Toy for Ferrets and Other Small Pets by Dawn Burg

Garbage - there I put it!

***UPDATE*** What a disappointment! I almost never go back and edit a review, but this time I felt it was necessary. I originally rated this bear rug 3 stars but as I've only had it for about a week I had to change my rating. That's why. With most ferret products, the need to clean and launder their clothing is a must. I wash everything almost once a week and I had to get a vacuum for the first wash of this rug. I should have photographed the episodes! The Marshall Small Animal Bear Rug rug fell apart quite a bit and if I mean fell apart the "fur" acted like the water was acidic, every tiny strand of fiber that makes up the fur ripped out and went EVERYWHERE! Thousands of tiny threads covered my washing machine and other ferret items (fleece blankets, hammocks, and shelters). I wash it in warm water on a gentle setting so it doesn't feel like it's hitting a stone. Every item I took out had hundreds of fibers/threads. I had a vacuum and had to hose down the strands before I could dry them. After each item was "removed," I literally had to use a hose to suck the fibers/threads out of my washing machine. Absolutely funny! If you look closely at a small Marshall bear rug that had the "fur" coming off, it turns out that the design is just fibers folded over the ropes. like a 10 year old rag you can see through that was finished. I had to carefully fold it up and throw it away, and even then I had to vacuum its way to the garbage to pick up a trail if it was left behind. Very disappointed! When you receive it, don't wash it! **Original 3 Star Review** titled "Ferrets Not Happy". I suppose I should have asked the question if it's a bit stuffed. I thought the bear's head was stuffed or something because the photo looks like it. I received the bear rug and it does indeed look like the picture, but the photo is a bit deceptive as it actually lies flat like a fleece blanket. My ferrets weren't too excited, nor did they spend too much time playing in or on it. If you have a large cage I can see it being used internally for sleeping but I wouldn't recommend putting it in a smaller cage.
