Product update: I have had this scratching post for two years now and I was wrong about the nesting area. My little kitten is now a large 13lb adult cat and still manages to squeeze his whole body into the nest area and sleeps very happily there. This is his favorite place. This is a well built scratching post that is easy to assemble. The fur is soft but shaggy and easy to clean. Cat hair will not stick to this material. Sisal rope is thick and lasts a long time. I have five cats and he looks just as good now as he did the day he arrived. I got rid of the central house as it was too small for my cats. I have a 5 month old kitten who loves the little nest. This is one of his favorite places to sleep. But when it grows up, it won't fit in anymore, so I only gave it 4 stars. I have two Armarkat scratching posts and they are very good quality for the money and will last a long time.
