Review on Parker Variant Adjustable Safety Razor - Customize Shave Intensity with Dial Turner & 5 Premium Blades (Graphite) by Faith Miller

So I don't usually write reviews, I just don't have the time. However, this is what I must write. So I got in the van to try out a straight razor, oh it's a "cool" and "manly" way to shave (I know it's safe, I'll get to it). Spent over $200 on razor (Dovo), sling, sling paste and sling conditioner. I even bought a Parker Shavette to try first (nice scar under my nose to prove it!). Everything for a "perfect shave" with less irritation. I shaved, lathered and after 30-40 minutes I was perfectly shaved. However, also lost a layer of skin! The road is really cool and you feel like you've accomplished something, but it takes time, a lot of time, to get it right. The Parker Variant security system comes into play. I wasn't thrilled to return to the safe (learned to shave on it 40 years ago) but I needed a faster shaving option and the cartridge leaves scratches on my face. THIS THING IS SO COOL! I got hit by an A$$ shave on the first pass. There were a few cuts, but they get fewer with every shave. My face is as smooth as a baby's (my wife loves it and it's worth the money for that alone :P). So what I've found that works best is that I use Feather blades (works great, just don't apply too much pressure or you'll bleed. I do three passes (could use one but want "absolute shave.") "") Start with a "3" across the grain, then a "2" across the grain, finally a "1" against the grain (everything except lip area, tape across to stop blood loss reduce) and finish clean with a "1".". Also, save your money on fancy soaps, I've tried them too and all they did was burn my face. Nivea shaving cream and aftershave balms are great! And they're cheap!
