Reliable purchase, guaranteed to be a good purchase.

Not the first year familiar with Ubiquiti products. They left only a good impression, and even now, I was not disappointed with the purchase of this device. I want to express my categorical disagreement with the previous review: the lack of a web interface at the point itself is not a drawback, since the point is designed to work through the UniFi Controller software, this is the web interface through which you can manage one or more UniFi devices. The points of this series are designed to create an enterprise-class WiFi network, using many of these points to create a WiFi network coverage of a certain area, and it would be foolish to blame them for being inconvenient to use at home. Although, for the sake of fairness, I will say that after setting up the network, the controller can be turned off, and the network will not stop working. Only some functions such as Captive Portal, which you are unlikely to use at home, will stop working, as well as collecting statistics on clients. As for the speed, I can say the following: this is a very unstable parameter, it depends on many factors, such as interference from your neighbors' WiFi devices, collisions when several devices compete for access to the same point, signal distortion from surrounding objects, etc.

Pros
  • The transfer rate is high (up to 40 Mbps in the immediate vicinity and up to 30 Mbps in neighboring rooms), not lower than the ZyXEL Keenetic Lite 3 that I had before. Beautiful design, powered by a PoE injector: only 1 cable is suitable for the access point - a twisted pair cable, through which both data and power are transmitted. Support for two WiFi ranges - both the common 2.4 GHz and the new 5 GHz - is a reserve for the future (so far I do not have client devices that support the new standard).
Cons
  • The manufacturer's forum reports that the point does not pass RA packets in guest mode, which suggests incomplete support for IPv6. In normal mode, I had no problems with the transmission of packets specific to IPv6. Guest did not check. It is not possible to turn off and turn on the LED at the point according to the schedule. The methods described on the manufacturer's forum do not work with the new controller and point. But this is more of a nitpick, and my personal Wishlist, just a point of location in the bedroom and interferes with sleep at night. It can be turned on and off manually via the controller.
