I've never used 2.5mm larger circular needles than the Addi Sock Wonder so I have no comparison. The Addis I was talking about are nickel plated so I'm already used to metal. They are very stockinette and fairly easy to knit (I'm an intermediate knitter at best). The thread slides without snagging and the cable connections do not pull. The cable is neither rigid nor flexible. It holds its shape and doesn't feel like I'm trying to bend it my way. The needles are good for the baby sweater I'm knitting. The needles are almost 2 weeks old and the tip of one needle is already worn out. The red color fades from friction. Seems a little early for that. It hasn't felt rough or bumpy so far, so I'll keep an eye on that. In comparison to the price I think the purchase is good and I am satisfied.
