Update: This fingerprint scanner has a problem, it sometimes activates when the PC is LOCKED, sometimes not! Or maybe it actively looks for your finger on the scanner for 30 seconds after locking the PC, but then it essentially turns off and there's nothing you can do on the lock screen to turn it back on so it can read your fingerprint. So you have to unlock with your password! I checked in Device Manager that the scanner is NOT going to sleep to save power and the problem persists! My Windows 10 64-bit (PRO) is up to date, so the problem is with the device itself! First check: didn't install itself at first, I had to restart windows (win10 machine) and then go to windows update, there was a new update for the fingerprint reader. It worked fine after that, love the LED in USB! When the PC is LOCKED it will light up and blink blue very softly, when you tap to unlock it will turn green for a moment and then go off completely after you log in.
