It does the job I bought to change the combination if something was swallowed so there was no need for a cord (a decent wire cutters did the trick) would definitely buy again if the need arises

I bought about 30 of these to protect our floating lab laptops. The coiled cord keeps things neat and tidy, and I love the simplicity of the release button. I would highly recommend them to anyone. This is the latest version of the famous "Kensington" combination. It has more scope than the previous version. I fell victim to a terrible fire from which I only escaped with my clothes on my back. Pros: - Good deterrent to step away from the computer for a moment (but not only to keep the laptop locked). - Coiled cord is great for portability and won't get in the way when connected to a laptop - Pretty easy to use meaning you don't need to be a genius to figure out how to set up and operate this lock. - The price is relatively cheap for a bit of common sense when you need to go to the bathroom after a second cup of coffee. Purchased for Echo Show 2nd Gen. Does not quite fit in the recess where the lock hole is located. I returned it and bought another model after asking Kensington for advice. In any case, the cable was twisted so tightly that it could pull the EC or any lightweight device off the table. I thought about keeping it for my laptop. but the cable weighs almost as much as my Ultralight.

Works great. Many of my devices have pre-punched holes for this lock. I use it for: MacBook ProDJ controller, portable piano keyboard, medium sized keyboard, large desktop monitor. The only thing I don't like is that the spool can get tangled and annoying at times, but it doesn't affect functionality. Easy to use and reprogram with a pen or anything to press the set button.

This lock looks secure and I doubt anyone will steal my Macbook Pro without special tools. The first major problem I encountered was setting up a lock. The manual requires you to use a thin paperclip, but I'm not an office camper and I don't carry super-thin paperclips. I had to go all the way to my shop tool box to get a 1/8 inch screwdriver to install the lock.
