Review on πŸ”’ Black Kensington Portable Combination Cable Lock for Laptops and Devices (Model K64670AM) by Paul Giordano

Effective deterrent

I recently ordered a Revain Kensington portable combination lock (K64670US) which was promptly delivered. Based on other reviews (and model numbers) this is a newer model of the Kensington K64560US ComboSaver Portable Laptop Lock. The installation instructions for the combination were not "written" but the pictures are simple enough to follow or understand. seconds. While it appears that previous models came with some sort of wrench, this requires either a paperclip (as shown in the instructions) or a flathead screwdriver. Simply press the screw, turn 90 degrees, set the combination, turn the screw back and you're done. This model is equipped with a thin/light cable that can be twisted. These are great attributes for portability, but some may be concerned about functionality. Winding it up is a bit of a hassle when looping and unwinding, and some might find the cable flimsy compared to other models. Also, there is some headroom on my Thinkpad T420, but not much to worry about. However, all locks should not be viewed as permanent security devices, but rather as a deterrent - at least to prevent someone from simply picking up your laptop. Cafe or library if you happen to step aside. This lock does the job pretty well as it's more portable (important as it's designed primarily for laptops) and is reasonably priced.
