Everything works as described. If you are looking for a cheap anti-theft device, this will work. It's easy to set up and pretty reliable in that regard. However, this is the real purpose of the products. Although everything is built in solidly by itself, there are problems: - The cable is short, thin and twisted. It makes it difficult to really find comfort or space, and it could probably be clipped with something stronger, if not a pair of large, solid adult-size scissors. Twisting also means everything goes bad, like your child's cuddly toy. However, the small size, annoying as it is, can make it difficult for you to get out of something like your desk without moving your laptop, which is a good deterrent. expensive for what you get. Basically I got it knowing it comes with their Securetek backpack which is a product I'm very interested in getting soon. EDIT: My original review said it was shaky. This was a bug on the device I used it on. It's not wobbly, my laptop's lock port is just big.
