Review on 🔪 Oudtinx High-Speed Steel Straight Cutting Tool by Sean Garrison

Due to the very low price (which has dropped by 20% two days after I ordered) I expected very little from them but as soon as I received them they were sent back straight away Unfortunately. The 1/2" was missing from a set that I was able to just trade in, but when I looked at the rest of the cutters they were pretty poor quality and the 5/16" was rusted pretty badly in its sealed tube. Unfortunately, this product listing "borrows" photos/graphics from other products so you can ignore those showing coated cutting edges and center cut ends - the bits are "shiny" uncoated HSS with typical 4x grooves (d not centered not sink in more than a few millimeters before the "nipple" stops). The end cuts were marginal and needed touching up before use, the edges and edges of the grooves were so bad they had to be rejected - quite rough and trying to sharpen them would require removing so much material that the diameter would be greatly reduced, as it was almost serrated. I think "for the price" is fine, but if you think about it, you should also keep in mind that these tools generally have to be "right" and the price might not mean they're fit for their intended purpose work, not just for - how long etc. I imagine it would be fine for hardwoods or phenolics (briefly), maybe softer aluminum. I've replaced them with carbide here for a little under forty dollars and they are of much better quality and cut.
