4 stars for the cute coat minus one star for the size that needs to be changed. I'm writing this in the hope that it will save someone the heartache of ordering one size up. :) Yes apparel makers, we all dog owners know that every dog is a different shape and size. Yes, we know that each of you creates your own size chart (we assume you do this to annoy us into forgetting to return unsuitable items and force us to buy more). But really. Is it really that hard to be kind to pet owners and release other important measurements to help us consumers make better choices? The requirement of only the length of the dog is only suitable for a velcro coat that has no sleeves. As for clothes with sleeves like these, how about a chest size that works for them? Or maybe even armpit to armpit? Total width up to belly velcro? The actual length of the clothes? Why is deployment so difficult? In this case, for this coat, you should measure the length of your dog from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Very easy. That information is posted further down this page, and I'm including tag information in this review. My dog is 21 inches long, according to the size chart it will be a large size that should fit 19-24 inches long. So the BIG coat has arrived and unfortunately it is only 16 inches long from the base. from neck to end, also it's too small in width to even think about putting both legs through the armholes (about 10 inches apart on a large one, doesn't stretch much). Even if I could squeeze his legs, the velcro tabs on the bottom would never touch (maximum 21 inches across each velcro strip on the large one). MEASURE YOUR DOG Measure your dog from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Large: 19" - 24" X-Large: 24" - 29" XX-Large: 29" - 34" Pet Fashion Brand, 2014 Fashion Pet. The bottom is more like a thin t-shirt- Material. And yes, there is a hole at the base of the hood for a leash to attach to the collar. The velcro straps that attach at the bottom are sewn to the edges of the coat and are 10cm long. and 3/4" wide. If you have a small dog, this is a fun design that will look really cute. Otherwise, buyers beware of sizing issues.
