My old tractor is a 1940 Ford Model 9N. My father and grandfather went together and bought it around 1963. I learned to ride on this thing and also learned valuable mechanical skills for life. and tractor driver skills. The dots kept closing on these things no matter what you tried. Also, they never seemed to last as long as you think. We're not talking about high performance dual tips with Excell super coils. As a tool and mold maker I have tried many fixes but nothing seems to have solved the problem well. After 58 years of intermittent problems, I decided to try a solid state ignition. I think that's the solution. Everything went as smoothly as expected. Everything was as advertised. No problem. Everything came like a glove. After installing it, it started after the third engine revolution. What more could I ask for? I was going to use it for chamfering and scraping prior to review and it has worked great so far. A plot of 2 hectares mowed. 6 inch tall grass, 6 foot lawn mower that cleans in the fall. And I have to say that the old gentleman was very proud of himself. I would recommend this product to anyone having ignition problems on these old N Series tractors and can only hope I can still work that hard when I'm 80 years old. Give yourself and your old Ford N a break. Try it, it worked for me!
