I built a battery box for my 12v fridge while camping. In the first picture there are a number of "pigtails" for connecting to various inputs/outputs including solar inputs. I used this shunt to measure battery voltage, input and output current, total current and state of charge. I used command strips to hold the shunt in place along with a heavy gauge hookup wire from the negative side of the battery. It works well and I can control the amps coming from my Powerwerx solar panel controller and make sure the amps turn off when the battery reaches 100% SOC. While I wish the cable from the shunt to the monitor was a lot shorter, there was room in the battery compartment for the cable. This build was a proof of concept and steps can be taken to make it much more elegant, but I'm happy with the result. By the way: Don't forget to buy a line for the plus line.
