Very good for golf cart

I installed it on a golf cart to control charge and regeneration. It works very well and is very accurate. The settings aren't very intuitive, but once you've set them up, you don't have to fiddle with them - it saves the settings even if you turn off the device. Alone it draws about 10mA at 48V with the backlight off. One problem is the small decimal point - sometimes it's hard to see. A nice addition will also be a different color of the backlight (at the moment it is green). But these are…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Very easy to install

Physical installation took about 10 minutes and 2 hours to read the instructions and try. The supplied instructions are printed too small, you can not read the icons. I printed out the instructions online, but the icons were too small to tell which button to press and when. Then I found a description from RV, "Installing a Fully Functional RV Battery Monitor". It was a find! Two minutes and done. The monitor appears to be well made and I've checked the result with a multimeter and it's…

More functions than expected

This small counter can do more than it promises. The description says it's a 100A shunt, but it had no problem measuring 163A (maybe I've had it before). The configuration is simple, the battery can be calibrated when fully charged or when the battery is empty. The backlight turns off while charging, which is really annoying at night. It can be turned off by holding down the 2 side buttons (cute). I haven't been able to test the accuracy, but the amps are about what I expected. My 50A charger…

Just what I needed for my lithium upgrade

I upgraded my 48v lead-acid system in my Taylor Dunn electric car to lithium. The battery gauge on board was no longer accurate as it was made for lead-acid batteries. But with this meter I can program exactly when it is at full voltage and fully discharged. You must do this once. And after that, the counter is very accurate. I also like that it shows the amp power while driving. With this system, I've found that my car actually charges when I'm idling. Because it not only shows you the…

Great alternative to Victron for $200

I like this battery monitor and it is very accurate. That's 1/4 the cost of Victron but without Bluetooth. I bought the 350A version and my shunt appears to be 500A. I'm not sure if there is a "350A" shunt and it's just a marketing ploy. I believe they only have 150A and 500A shunts and sell them in various current configurations. As a general rule, your maximum current should be at least 25% below the maximum power of your shunt. Shunts can overheat and change resistance when overloaded. Even…

That worked great for my application.

I built a battery box for my 12v fridge while camping. In the first picture there are a number of "pigtails" for connecting to various inputs/outputs including solar inputs. I used this shunt to measure battery voltage, input and output current, total current and state of charge. I used command strips to hold the shunt in place along with a heavy gauge hookup wire from the negative side of the battery. It works well and I can control the amps coming from my Powerwerx solar panel controller and…
