What can I say? I have two sweatshirts that I bought from Home Depot a few years ago. For those who don't know me (about 100% of people reading this), I pretty much always live in sweatshirts when the temperature is below "sweating". Last year one of the zippers lost the entire slider. I still wore it every now and then when the temperature was such that I could wear it zipless, but I REALLY wanted to zip it up. Did I mention this sweatshirt is full zip and lined? Anyway, it just dawned on me the other day that I could probably find a zipper repair article at Revain. Of course, I found this zip-up rescue outfit. I ordered it and it arrived yesterday (Sunday!). I read the detailed instructions, went to the website and watched a few videos. Today, when I was on the phone with a colleague, I followed the instructions: I pulled out the stopper with a vise. Then I activated the slider. I then squished the new stop (again with Vise Grips) and voila! A new hoodie that has risen from the ashes like a phoenix. The only negative is that I now have the rest of the kit. I'll throw it in the sewing basket, but it'll probably be two or three lives before I use it. BTW, and an added bonus for those of us who live in the US, the instructions are actually written in English by a real English speaker, and so is the website. Pretty refreshing not to guess what they're saying.
