The good news is that the mechanism is as quiet as advertised. BUT. it was supposed to be 4 sets of hands and there were only 3 sets in the box. The hour hand sits normally on the arbor, but the minute hand for all 3 styles will not sit on the arbor no matter how hard you try. The instructions say if you tighten the back firmly first, the front will do. Yes, the minute mostly goes upside down, but that doesn't change the landing on the right side up. So I had to install the minute hand upside down, but it's silver painted aluminum on the front instead of nice black. Also the shape is weird because the metal pressing isn't flat for the inverted look. I had to go to the hardware store and buy a can of enamel paint to make the silver black. Aerosol Enamel Paint is $7.95! So it wasn't a good deal for me. I used to buy movements and I've never had a problem with the hands moving incorrectly.
