Glass is very thin and breaks easily. I saved the packaging and use it when folding the bowls to keep chips out. The glass does not appear to be tempered and when 1 bowl broke there were splinters. They suit my purpose, but if you're using them for dining and find they will rattle with other dishes or don't have room to pack between bowls, I would suggest buying bowls from a reputable brand like Pyrex. .
