It's small! I know the size is clearly marked, but I was still surprised. You can connect this meter in two ways: 1) 2-wire: black to ground, red and white to pos. energy source. The meter is powered by the same source that it is measuring. Pros: Easy setup, only 2 wires required. Good for placing cars. Disadvantages: limits the measuring range to approx. 3-30c. In a dark room I could see the display at around 2.4V, and at around 3V I could see it in a lighted room. It seemed to reach full brightness at around 4V. 2) 3-wire: black to ground, red to power supply 3-30V, white to pos. the current source to be measured. Pros: Offers full measurement range, 0-100V (according to specifications). Good for desktop use and for measurements outside the 3-30V range. Cons: Requires a separate power supply for the meter. The power supply and the source being measured must share the same ground. The above pros and cons should be weighed according to your needs; They may not be any pros or cons for you at all! There are no instructions included with the counter, but the product description on Amazon is sufficient to connect. The green color is bright and looks beautiful. I just received it so don't think about the durability. For the price this seems like a good product if limited accuracy is not an issue. For in-vehicle installation, that's probably fine, although there are many more attractive ways to do it. For a desktop computer, this is fine for a quick park or voltage check. Some details: The wires are 6 inches long and are tinned at the end. My power supply has a 1.25-18V range, so I didn't test it externally. This area. It has a (very) small measuring pot on the back, I had to look for a screwdriver to turn it. I finally found one with a 1.5mm flat tip that was big enough but not too big. My power supply showed 17.82 on my multimeter, the voltmeter showed 18.1 and I was able to calibrate it back to 17.8. At 10V you only get two digits. The third digit would deserve another star. Of course, with any voltage, the lower digit is suspicious. When changing the measured voltage, the display slows down due to the measurement frequency of 2 Hz. Not clear, but ok mA at 17.8 V at measured power, not power. 1.4mA at 12V and 12.5mA at 17.8V.
