Review on Spofine Camping Accessories Kit: Tent Stakes Mallet Hammer, Tent Pegs, 4x13ft Nylon Guyline Rope, Aluminum Cord Adjuster | Ideal Tent Gear for Camping, Hiking, Backpacking by Christopher Cheek

Revainrating 3 out of 5

All in all too lightly resilient

It is difficult to rate this set as it consists of three components and they do not perform the same. My overall three star rating is something of an average of three, although weighted primarily by the performance of the hammer/stripper. The good first: The overall quality of the items is good with the possible exception of the pins. It's nice to have a kit like this so you have spare pegs and tripwires in case the ones supplied with your hide fail or become damaged. The bag makes it easy to pack and convenient. So on article. Hammer/Puller: Good build quality and beautiful appearance. However, it is lighter than advertised. It says 380 grams / 13.4 ounces. in the description but I weighed mine on a digital scale and it was 360g/12.6oz. This is important because driving the pegs into hard ground will feel too light and require a LOT of effort. Light weight might seem like an advantage on hikes, but what hiker's worth their clipped toothbrush, you know who would carry one? This is actually a car or in my case motorbike camping. Rather than being lighter, I would have preferred it to be a few grams heavier so it would perform well. After buying it and using it a few times I started to think it would be better to put a strong screw hook on the end of a regular 16oz rod. jackhammer. Five bucks and a trip to Harbor Freight and you've got a better tool. The reason I say jackhammer and not claws is because I've found digging trenches in camp to be useful, although again, it's too easy. I think the strap should be a safety feature but I find it annoying. The pin puller works as intended. Drawbar: good quality. Adequate but not exuberant length. reflectivity plus. Adjusters are somewhat prone to slippage. Pegs: too short for good holding power on anything but hard ground - about three inches shorter than standard. I like the notches, but only the top one is really useful. Haven't bent anything yet. May I recommend this kit? You could get away with just the hammer/hook in your kit. You could build a better kit from scratch, but not many people will put in the time and effort. But I can't argue with the convenience of just having it delivered to my door. So. It's hard not to give him a qualified yes.
