I have another shoe mount with a single thumbscrew but if it comes loose you could lose it and everything attached to it (when diving) and that could get expensive. It wasn't clear if the two thumbscrews were actually separate, which I really needed. You attach one thumbscrew to the bottom and the other to the first to keep them from loosening. They were, so everything was fine. What I didn't expect or overlook was the presence of a locking clip that holds the back off the edge of the bank mount so you add security if the thumbscrews come loose. The investment is definitely worth it.
