The RC jet ski works and came with two batteries. The run time is about 20 mins till it starts losing power. The remote will need 2 AA batteries not included. Our use was for my son to play with it in the pool. The boat is kind of slow so if this is for lake or older children then they will probably not like it. The speed is fine since our pool is smaller and a fast RC would just over power the space. It also goes right by default so to steer straight we have to twist the wheel to the left constantly. I read this was an issue for others as well so just a product design flaw and not just mine. The light on the front is nice and we used it at night to test it out. The controller is not water proof so for him to play with it in the pool he must keep the controller dry. The other issue is the battery compartment is hard to open and each time i did was expecting it to break. If the power was doubled and the steering fixed it would be a 4 or maybe 5 star toy. Shipping was fast.
