Review on πŸ’» Upgraded TOTU 13 in 1 Type C Hub Dongle Adapter - Triple Display Docking Station for Windows & MacBook Pro USB C Systems (4K Dual HDMI & DP, 75W PD) with macOS Support for Mirror Display by Jamie Masloski

Revainrating 4 out of 5

May not be fully compatible with XPS 13 2-in-1

I bought this to act more or less as a docking station for my laptop to connect it to dual monitors. The display ports and visual output work flawlessly and the other ports work flawlessly, so this product already meets its basic needs. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is solely because the bandwidth of the Power Delivery port (USB C) doesn't quite seem to match my laptop (one of those fancy new XPS 13 2-in-1s because I THINK MYSELF ). The result is a notification that the power connection is "not strong enough" (the standard Windows notification), even though I'm using the computer's standard adapter, which is only 45W. The battery icon on the bottom right then becomes a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, which means the laptop may still be losing battery power due to insufficient power. Maybe it's the new computer and/or lack of fully customized software for it, or maybe it's just one of the computers that isn't fully compatible with it, but either way it's a bit of a disappointment. The hub is still very usable for my purposes, and my laptop has a USB-C port on the other side, which I can still connect the power adapter to. , which is nice. That being said, it's still quite bulky that hanging it by the side of the laptop would be impractical unless it's on a desk/desk, but admittedly a hub with so many ports means you'll have a ton of other ones Things will have connected devices that would make kneeling impossible anyway. I will say that the product is quite expensive but I will admit that I don't quite understand how much similar products can be sold for and I would say that the convenience provided by an all in 1 hub adding to these is still worth the money I paid for it (about $80).

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • No performance
