Review on πŸŒ™ Noctua NH-L9x65: The Ultimate Premium Low-Profile CPU Cooler (65mm, Brown) by Pogo Shakey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Wow! Just wow! for CPU fan

This cooler exceeded all my expectations. Installation was easy, possibly the easiest CPU cooler installation I've ever done. The temperature drops by up to 50% when idling and under load. It's so quiet I can't even hear it. I have 3 x 120mm and 3 x 80mm fans in my mid-tower InWin case and I never realized that the CPU cooler was making the most noise. Amazing upgrade. After the first impressions I am very happy that I chose the Noctua product. With this little beast installed I idle 20-25 cents and run TW WarHammer at Ultra settings on a 4GB 980GTX in a massive campaign, I barely get 50 cents under load. That's still 25% or more less than a standard fan with the very best Arctic thermal compound. (I used the included NT-H1 paste as my MX-4 paste order was delayed. Guess I'll be sending it back. I figured if Noctua included that paste they would trust them. There was a full 4 -g-Tube.) I had a stock 6 year old Intel cooler for my i5-2500k. I've overclocked about 15% with no issues over all these years, but lately it hasn't worked well at all, keeping my CPU around 40-50c. in idle and up to 81s under load. The fan stopped working with Asus AI Suite controls or manual controls (ROG Gene-IV Maximus). It's gotten a little sluggish lately and has recently started issuing temperature alerts. stressed out so I decided against it and issued an RMA. Since there is no real pressure in the cooling system, I'm not sure why high-pressure hoses are used. They're pretty tough. Should be able to do the same with high strength, thin wall and very flexible tubing for about the same price. I will definitely be installing one of Noctua's oversized coolers in my future i7-7700k build instead of liquid. More safety and clearly outstanding cooling technology. Of course, I wish fans had color options. I rarely look inside, but these colors definitely don't match anything I've ever put in a PC case in almost 30 years of building a PC. * Yes, back to the days when RAM was measured in megabytes! :o I would paint them, but that's not a long-term solution. The slightest deviation of the weight from the center unbalances the fans and significantly reduces their lifespan. I will make it work as intended and feel good about it with this amazing 6 year guarantee.
