I have a 2U workstation that I'm working on for a friend. I put an i7-4790 in the case (instead of a 4th gen quad-core i3). The standard cooler when testing the Intel processor could not prevent heating to 100 * C even with the case open. Was replaced by this cooler. This is a great upgrade for the stock radiator. I recently bought an Asus desktop with an Intel i5 6400 processor. The stock cooler ran at 30 degrees Celsius (86 F) and hit 67 C (152 F) under load. This was tested when converting videos with handbrake for 15 minutes.
