Review on πŸŒ™ Noctua NH-L9x65: The Ultimate Premium Low-Profile CPU Cooler (65mm, Brown) by Anthony Mangum

Quiet and the fan rarely works

bought it to replace the stock cooler. This is a mid-range machine with an Intel i5 10400. The original fan was a poor clone of the stock Intel cooler. The fan was loud and unbalanced. It runs and vibrates even at low speed under very little load. This block is about the same height and makes no noise even at full load for 5 minutes doing big Excel updates. Most often, the fan does not work, and its temperature is 8-10 degrees cooler than the standard cooler. I can't believe the 10400 is primarily passively cooled by this cooler. Installation requires removing the motherboard to install the bracket. This can be a little scary for those who don't build their own PCs. However, just take your time and work logically and you will be fine. If you have access to the back of the motherboard in your case, all you have to do is open this cover to remove the old cooler and install this cooler. My case simply did not have such access. It comes with really good thermal paste and everything you need to connect to Intel or AMD processors.
