I like the idea that it's environmentally friendly so I've ordered a few to try. The pads are packaged nicely and for some reason the yellow color of the sponge makes me happy. The rough part of the sponge is very hard and does not make the sponge pliable. I just noticed that the product page now says to soak the sponge before use to soften it, but I don't usually have time for that. Maybe they can make that part of the sponge thinner? The two parts of the sponge began to fall apart after only a few days of use; it was unexpected. I thought it might be a coincidence. I started with a second sponge and it lasted a few days longer than the first before it also started falling apart. I don't think there's any harm in using the two parts separately. Except for the separation of the two parts, which is why I only gave three stars in the durability category, each of the individual parts works as it should. no smell The spongy part absorbs more than the hard, fibrous part.
