It didn't fit directly onto the engine like a factory part. I ended up removing the gasket from this block and placing it on my car's factory cover. What's wrong with BMWs and their leaky oil caps? German engineers are my A$$! To make it really oil tight I cut out some thin gasket material to make the lid SEAL. In other words, the stock gasket plus some more to have an oil tight cover, this problem is common on these cars.
