Review on 🚰 BPA-Free Water Bottle Replacement Cap for Nalgene On The Fly by Karoly Reddick

Revainrating 3 out of 5

not as strong as the bottles it screws on

Strictly speaking, it's just better than the standard screw caps that come on wide-mouth Nalgen water bottles. However, since it's more complex, there's a greater chance of something breaking. I'm pretty picky about outdoor gear and after summer camping, festivals, hiking and other events this cap has definitely started to fall apart a bit. The area where the top lid opens has lost a lot of stability, it will now open if you drop it without a metal catch, and if you close the lid tight enough the part that grips the lid will pop out. - easy to replace, it just snaps into place, but like a retractable ink pen, once it falls apart, it will never be perfectly reassembled. The convenience is absolutely worth $7, but don't expect it to survive a year of heavy use without losing a drop of its luster. Also, the white part tends to collect dust, which looks a bit rough but doesn't affect its usefulness. UPDATE: After years of continuous use, even if you clean it thoroughly and only use it for water. , you can expect mold to start growing on the soft part of the inner cork of the mouthpiece - it is very difficult to get rid of once it is there as the mold penetrates the soft material instead of just growing a biofilm on the surface form.
