High marks for sound quality and range

I bought this phone 1) after 20 years of owning a Uniden phone that provided excellent service and 2) after recently buying a Bought a similar Panasonic DECT 6.0 telephone and absolutely did not fit. The sound quality on this device, which worries me the most, is top-notch. Clear sound with no feedback/distortion in both normal and hands-free modes. The reception is excellent; Audio stays clear even when I move into areas of my home where other phones are prone to interference. The volume control is also excellent; In fact, the maximum volume is too loud for me, but it can be useful for people with hearing loss. The only real downside I found is that phone numbers cannot be edited when transferring numbers from caller id to phone book. If you have a large phone book, this can be a chore. All in all, I recommend this phone, especially if sound quality is your main concern. Bought for home use but perfect for the office. The website states that the phone is compatible with the DHS100 wireless headset for hands-free use. I'll take a look and will update. PROS Superior sound quality, reception and range in all modes Well-lit screen and buttons Proportional button size and spacing; Easy one-handed operation Silent mode mutes all calls One-button voicemail ringback +/- Slow access to speed dial, caller ID history and phonebook offset by all information linked across handsetsCONS Calls can be louder, which in is important for larger rooms- - - Update : Uniden Technical Support has confirmed that the D-1760 series is compatible with the DHS100 wireless headset for hands-free use. It's sold out at Revain, so maybe Uniden will come out with a new model. There are numerous negative reviews for the ergonomics of the current version.
