We bought this to supplement light in our house at night while our solar isn't working. The first night it was dead by 6:30 in the morning. I don't think I charged it long enough.Now I leave it plugged in most of the day. We use it for a couple hours at night, turn it off, then turn back on the next morning. It doesn't dim and seems to run without dimming. I have charged it in the sun but as the description says the charge isn't very long with constant use. We have a solar power system for our house so it works out for us.The lantern is very light and very bright. We have used the flashlight part and it works very bright. A little awkward when using the flashlight part when holding in your hand but again we purchased it for the lantern part.All in all it is lightweight, very bright, recharges nicely.
