Installation was quite easy and took about two and a half hours to route the RCA cable, install the camera and solder the wires. I had to purchase an additional 20ft RCA cable with red power cord and RCA plugs for our 18-19ft van. The hardest part was getting the RCA through the back door of the van, which took more time than it was hard. I used thin safety wire and threaded it through the tight passages, then attached the RCA to the wire and fed it through. If there is any confusion with the red wire on the RCA, it serves as a remote control wire to turn on the camera function on the monitor/main unit. On the monitor/head unit, the red wire is connected to the reverse control wire, so the monitor will automatically switch to the camera when you shift into reverse. Without this connection, you would have to manually switch the monitor/main unit to the camera. RCA feeds the video stream. On the camera end of the RCA cable, connect the red wire (which is part of the RCA cable) to the red wire on the other camera connector. The "other" connector on the side of the camera requires power and ground. This connector consists of a red wire and a black wire, route these wires to the reverse light positive to positive and negative to negative. Before assembling the car, check that everything works and make the necessary adjustments to the camera to get it where you want it. Easy Day! This is ONE way to connect the camera and the easiest in my opinion. The camera works great, I recommend!
