This hat works exactly as described! I had no problem putting it on. I simply gathered my braids (they were long and ended at the waist on the larger side) into a loose bun, and the hat was easy to put on. Once I made sure there was no air in the lid. It didn't slip or slide back. I have been in both the sea and pool water and had no problems. But to be clear, I just swam underwater in the pool. When I took off my hat there was a small amount of water at the back of my head, but the rest of my head and my braid were dry. I'm glad I didn't believe the bad reviews and ordered anyway! This works great for us sisters who have felt limited and discouraged by the average swim cap for years!
