Review on 🐠 Efficient Macro Aqua M-50 Mini Hang-on External Protein Skimmer for 60 Gallon Tanks by Jody Yarrish

Small skimmer that can

Bought for a seven year old 75 gallon tank with no sump. Arrived quickly after months of being sold out. Assembly was a little intimidating, the pump assembly is tight to the body and I was afraid some components would snap. I then had to take it apart as it fit onto the plastic lip of my tank. After assembly, the pump started pumping water and bubbles as it should. When the flow was fully open, the bowl began to fill with clean water from the reservoir. Before going to bed, I lowered the inlet so that the bubble column was only about a third of the way up the neck. The next morning the cup was one-third full of a light green liquid. After work, half full, about 60ml. Cleaned and trying to set up the system again. In the morning the water is about a quarter full with brown-green water. The water collection cup has a white overflow hole and a hose to drain into the tank to make a mess. I bought a 1/4" ID pipe and a bucket to put under the tank in case of a spill. Again, afraid that the plastic might rip, I soaked the pipe in hot water for a minute to chill to soften it, and put it on the outlet. In general, the first few days I am satisfied. My only complaint is the sound. The woman hears the murmur and the backflow of water, does not worry that something is leaking in the house The first day the motor made a vibrating noise but now I can't hear anything other than the nominal noise of the pump Eventually I'd like to move all the pumps down to the basement except for the power heads but that's far from the case.
