Review on Ultimate Sun Protection: Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen - Essential Skin Care Solution by Jamie Vanderburg

No skin reactions!: Baby care

We went to Puerto Rico when my son was 7 months old so he started swimming at 6 months and started using sunscreen the same day. Living in Southern California, we use LOTS of sunscreen even without a pool. We have used the CA Baby as it was highly recommended for its safety etc. but he has also had bouts of unexplained eczema on his hands and face. Since we started taking solid food around the same time as sunscreen, we assumed it was food related and did some exclusion/allergy experiments to try to localize it. It wasn't until we started keeping detailed records to find a diet-related cause that I realized the eczema flared up every Saturday, and when swim class was over, so did the eczema. Based on other recommendations we gave Blue Lizard a try and are very glad we did! It works very well (so far there are no burns - we have been using it almost every day for more than a month), it has no pronounced odor and, most importantly, no skin reactions! It's expensive, like all sunscreens for kids. From now on we only buy. Be warned: its consistency is thinner than most baby sunscreen so it spills out of the bottle pretty quickly and ends up holding enough in your hand for baby AND you. .

Pros
  • Baby care
Cons
  • Not the best
