Revain's motto should be cautious vigilance

I bought this as a spare key for a 2013 Hybrid Sonata. The first thing you need to know is that you can't program it yourself, you have to take it to a auto mechanic . Dealers don't program aftermarket key fobs, and there's a reason for that. It was programmed in January for around $65, but it stopped working reliably a few days ago. Sometimes the machine recognizes it and sometimes it doesn't; Luckily, the key still works if you put it in the center console. However, I fear for the long-term profitability. The seller called me back when I reported this and offered to replace it for $15. And I said no because I'd have to reprogram it again so I'd lose another $80 on a product I'm not sure actually works. If you're itching to buy a new key I'd suggest you shake things up at the dealer - older models aren't usually much more expensive and work just fine.
