Some things to consider before purchasing this system are not mentioned here. 1) Simplisafe offers 2 plans: $14.99 per month or $24.99 per month. Neither this ad nor the Simplisafe website (at least I couldn't find it) says anything about the $24.99 plan. But the most important thing about the plan question is that this statement is not true when paying 50 cents a day: "With the SimpliCam surveillance camera, you can see what is happening at home at any time, from your phone. tablet or computer and is equipped with an integrated stainless steel fastener. for complete control over privacy." You must have a $24.99/month plan. With the $14.99 plan, I can't remotely arm or disarm my device, view activity on specific devices, change contact settings, receive emergency text messages, or manage my devices The only features I get with the $14.99 plan are emergency emails and calls, my camera view (live only) from the phone only App and emergency procedures 2) Setting it up itself isn't as easy as advertised I had to call Simplisafe to activate 5 of my sensors 3) Until I agreed to a plan they said that can't help me set up my devices. 4) AFTER my system was set up and my plan complete, they informed me that some police departments require a home emergency call permit if the system is hooked up to 24/7 emergency monitoring. My city is one of them and my city also charges a home alarm fee. It's not mentioned here or on the Simplisafe website (at least I couldn't find it). I understand why cities do this, but it would be nice to know this up front so I can check costs first. 5) Since purchasing this system I have had to call Simplisafe 2 times and the wait was over 45 minutes. each have a representative. So if I have to call Simplisafe to change something, I have to expect very long waiting times. On a positive note, that Simplisafe staff are very friendly and professional and also know how to deal with disappointed customers! If I hadn't had to wait so long it would have been 5 stars. I've only had this system for a week, but I got it for a good price, so I'm happy with the system, even with its limitations - so far. I'd say I wouldn't pay Revain's current price if I knew what I know now. This is my first system and it was definitely a learning experience.
