I've been using one of these for a few years and recently lost the strap. The price was right, so I bought a complete replacement right away! 2 things to note: 1. If the charge is not more than 50%, there will be problems connecting to the sports tracker app even if you have already connected it. I get around this by re-pairing via the app and then immediately start exercising - works all the time.2. If the heart rate is increasing rapidly (e.g. 1/16 mile or shorter intervals) and the intensity is very high, the monitor will tend to cut the heart rate in half or turn off. This is not usually a problem for the average person. The strap will last many times if you tighten it up a bit and at least rinse it in warm water after each use.
