I wanted this primarily because I am a semi-professional photographer and needed a monitor that would display my images more accurately and at the largest size I typically print - 13" x 19". It's excellent for this type of use. One caveat: it comes with additional calibration software from X-rite, which requires you to purchase the i1Display Pro to actually use the software. It's not a matter of course. If you already have a screen calibration tool, you don't need it. So don't download the X-rite software and it won't keep telling you the screen isn't calibrated.
