Dell UltraSharp 104P6: 27" 2560X1440P Monitor with Plug and Play, Built-In Speakers and Kensington Lock (Discontinued) Review

One of the USB ports on the side of the monitor is defective. For $1,000 I would expect it to have no flaws, no matter how small. It's not a cheap monitor, and $1,000 for a monitor is HUGE money. I EXPECT all of this to work as it should. Very disappointed and only 3 stars for that.

Great monitor, I'm a photographer and I have pretty high standards for my work. worth your money. I would recommend it to a friend.

UPDATED August 27, 2014 It has taken a while to update this review, but in the meantime a critical issue I had with the 2713H has surfaced: the bluish cast on this monitor that I mentioned earlier is color space related of the monitor together. in AdobeRBG, not sRGB. While the low price is tempting, you might be better off considering a different monitor. This monitor has a motion sensor that brings up the settings menu. These sensors in Dell monitors are prone to failure. And now I see this menu popping up several times an hour. There's no way to turn it off: you can simply reduce the time the menu stays on screen to at least 5 seconds. Dell has poor warranty length and coverage, so it's wise to avoid their line of monitors altogether.

I bought this monitor specifically for photography! That's wonderful. In addition to color support, it offers many connection options.

Ultra-sharp monitor - looked at the Apple analogue but opted for a matte or glossy screen finish. I'm glad I did That's my feedback!

Great dimensions (size), nice color, cheap price considering what you get (big monitor with wide color gamut). Why isn't it five stars? Because there is a subtle "whining" that distracts me easily. It wasn't too bad returning it (I got a very good deal) but I realize it and it's a bit annoying.

If you want a Mac, don't buy it. don't even waste your time. Before ordering, I spoke to a Dell rep and she told me this monitor would work on a Mac. But not really. After receiving the monitor I called DELL support and went through 5 different techs and no one had a clue how a Mac works. If you connect a computer it will recognize the monitor but you need an installer to get the full 2560x1440 resolution and billion colors and of course they don't have a Mac version on CD and it's not…

Despite the picture, no stand was included with the monitor. I contacted the company twice but they kept claiming that the written description said it was "monitor only". I have a screenshot that proves otherwise. Either way, I needed a monitor, so I gave up and had to buy a stand separately. I would never buy from this company again.

When I first bought the Dell U2713H Rev A02 in May 2013 everything worked fine. However, after a few weeks, the USB3 interface died with the monitor. Since I didn't really need USB capabilities at the time and the monitor was the best I've seen from Dell, I didn't call tech support. I've since seen many reports of USB3 crashes with no real cure after many exchanges with Dell tech support. I bought this expecting a great monitor to fit at a great price. It's ok, but nothing special. I already have a Dell U2412M so I put them side by side and compared - the result is that the difference is minimal. So don't waste the extra $450. Yes, it's a bit bigger and has a higher resolution. If you want a higher resolution, go for the u2713hm. It costs $150 less and is almost the same monitor, save for a wider range of colors that your eye can't discern.

There aren't many reviews on it, but I think it's a great monitor. Bought this for a new Dell computer and it looks great. The picture is beautiful and the screen size is bigger than you think.

I bought two of these. Great quality and what I like best is that they show the same image side by side. That's my feedback.

First, remember that this monitor is gigantic. Watch a 27 inch TV and sit directly in front of it. I bought this monitor for photo editing because it has a great color display and you really won't find anything better with a smaller screen. And to be honest, the size doesn't bother me anymore, I just dim the brightness a bit :-) As a photographer, I highly recommend this monitor. For someone else I don't think it would be necessary.

The color was terribly wrong! That's 99% color accuracy for you! I returned it and bought a Samsung which was 100% color accurate straight away and matched its specs. No matter how I adjusted the settings, it wasn't anywhere near accurate. I'm an artist so this was absolutely critical and unacceptable. I have a 24 inch Dell monitor that is 10 years old with very accurate colors. At Dell you had a color blind person design your monitors, funny!

I haven't tested USB3.0 yet, which was mentioned as a problem. This is the A06 version, so I think it's the fixed version. The first monitor I received was the A04 and the sticker on the back was partially peeled off which bothered me. When I turned it on and ran a color test, it became clear that the problem was therein. The quarter-sized circle at the top center of red and white had serious color issues. I sent it back. It cannot pass the color calibration with this defect in any way. Ordered

After a few years with the 30-inch Dell 3007WFP, I decided to upgrade to the 27-inch Dell with LED for several reasons: the new one has more input lag, but a lot more connection options despite being a bit smaller is and a lower resolution. , it's much more power efficient - although it doesn't have a CF card slot, the slots and ports it does have are USB 3.0, not USB 2.0 like the 3007WFP. Fantastic monitor, especially after LUT calibration with i1Display pro. Much better color accuracy than my previous CCFL monitor I had before. I also appreciate that the LED backlight doesn't require any warm-up time for colors to come out accurately at calibrated levels like CCFL. It's light, doesn't generate much heat, and the new matte anti-glare coating is fantastic. USB3 works great, as does an SD card reader.

There were concerns about the lower price compared to Dell's website. But a sealed and brand new second revision came. Nice improvement over the U2711 and a worthy successor. Wide color space support thanks to GB LED backlighting, good Adobe RGB and sRGB emulation and factory calibration. Extensive additional functions such as memory card reader, hardware calibration, USB 3.0 hub. Very nice design. Looks stylish and professional. I'll try to calibrate later.
