My air filter used to be one of those ESPs that had to be taken out and cleaned every season (if good). After upgrading my archaic heater, I was presented with two options. Stick with the fixed filter or switch to this one. I was a little worried about the cost of replacement filters, but I jumped at it because I'm honestly lazy and don't want to lug that piece of metal outside to wash down the hose. When I bought it, I received two packages. for $50. Not a bad price. The filter matches the air filter perfectly and they appear to be genuine Aprilaires not that I could really tell the difference if they were any different. Filters last me about a year. I live in the north east so I have heat mostly from October/November -> March. A fan/fan is also connected to my AC, but my AC doesn't run as much as most people because I live in a fairly wooded area. However, I am satisfied with the performance of these filters.
