Although the nominal performance is the same as that of the Intel Core i5 - 2550K, the overclocking potential is significantly lower. It would appear that technologies operating at 22nm should release less heat than those operating at 32nm, but the existence of a video core makes heat dissipation much more difficult. As a consequence of this, even if the acceleration to 4.4 GHz is the identical, the new 2550k is almost 10 degrees hotter than the 3570k. If you do not require a video core, you should not get it for overclocking because I do not advocate it. I really hope that Intel will release a 22mm processor that does not have a video core when they finally come to their senses.
