I really liked this project. The parts come in single sheets but are cut precisely and remarkably clean. The pieces are brittle and you don't want to just randomly start "popping" the pieces. They want to take their time and "work out” the pieces. Patience. The instructions are easy to follow. Some of the really intricate parts require some fine sanding (as directed in the instructions, and a small square of sandpaper is included), but there's really nothing that most can't handle. Modern technologies create what was previously only possible with the help of metals, and then only with the help of talented craftsmen. Precisely cut pieces and instructions make it almost a farce. If this modern, accurate, computerized and reproducible method had been available more than 50,100 years ago, I think watchmakers would have cried and found a new niche. I love this project. I wish I had a kid to do this with. Sooo many hidden lessons apply to making this. I think it would be great to be with most of the over 10 year olds. old children. Especially the kids who like to know how "things" work and stuff.
