Review on πŸ”Œ Cable Matters Micro HDMI to VGA Adapter: Seamless Micro HDMI to VGA Conversion in Sleek Black Design by Tim Airy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Performed as expected

I bought this to connect my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro to all the old projectors I encounter at work that only support VGA connections. I've only connected it to one projector at the moment, but it worked exactly as expected. There were no issues like flickering or loss of connection. Just plug in and get started. I wish it didn't require USB power simply because it adds another cable to my setup. However, this is not a deal breaker and I believe this purchase was worth the cost. If I notice any performance changes I will definitely update my review. Update: I just discovered something you may find important when using this device. This may or may not happen on your computer, but it happened on mine. When you plug an adapter into an HDMI port, it may automatically attempt to send audio through the HDMI port. This adapter doesn't handle audio, so you won't hear anything from your computer's speakers and you may not hear anything plugged into the headphone jack (as I've experienced). To fix this problem, I clicked the volume icon in the system tray, opened the mixer, and selected a different output device. Presentation Crisis Distracted!
