The perfect solution!

Most of my work consists of visiting schools to create multimedia presentations for teachers and students, so I have to interact with a wide range of legacy products - and I never know how the technology of the school will be obsolete! This adapter allows me to connect my Dell Venue 11 Pro tablet's HDMI output to ANY old-school projector or display that only has a VGA input. It works like a charm and I haven't come across a situation where it didn't work perfectly! With this adapter you can get

Works perfectly with Lenovo Yoga Pro 2

The Yoga Pro 2 has a micro HDMI port for an external display. This adapter allows me to extend my desktop to an external monitor and keep both original resolutions in addition to duplicating the desktop.

Yoga 2 Micro HDMI-VGA connection works perfectly

I believe in conciseness. I've been a software developer and programmer for over 15 years, so having the right equipment is essential to my job. I have a Yoga 2 and travel to various customer locations. I was ready to buy another laptop as Micro HDMI to VGA didn't work (Micro HDMI to HDMI worked but how many customers would have access to it? Right now this is the 'only' cable that works for my Yoga 2 works No problem with wrong screen size (trust me the cable affects it) If you want to saveโ€ฆ

Easy to install and best of all it works

I use it to connect an old VGA only monitor to RPi4. This device works well and I can easily disconnect it from the USB ports on the front of the RPi4.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Expensive

Ideal for stationary tablets.

I didn't know this was an active adapter that needed USB power. Now I see my stupidity. That being said, I'm still deducting a star for the need for USB power. I use it to connect my Microsoft Surface to a projector. The Surface has a USB port, but only one. So if you want to use an adapter, you can't connect a mouse or USB drive. That being said, if you're hooking this up to a projector, you probably won't be walking around with it. I ended up using a USB wall charger to power the adapterโ€ฆ

Has stopped working after 4 or 5 uses

Purchased in March 2018. From time to time I need to give presentations for work - about once a month - and I often use different projection devices that require different adapters from me require. . I bought this micro HDMI to VGA adapter in March 2018 and have used it 3 or 4 times with no problems. Yesterday when it was plugged in to prepare for the presentation it stopped working. I was able to use a different projector and connect it with a micro HDMI cable, so I know the problem wasn'tโ€ฆ

Very good price for this adapter

Really good price for this adapter. It's surprisingly hard to find a converter for my Lenovo Yoga 720 that uses a micro-HDMI connector as the only display port. This adapter works great when used to mirror to any display (I used a projector). However, I ran into a particular problem. Whenever I try to extend my monitors so I can see one thing on my laptop screen and another thing on the projector, the image on the projector is dark and covered with strange lines. At first I thought the adapterโ€ฆ

Surprised it worked really well with Surface RT (Gen 1)!

Almost all similar cables sold in the aftermarket have problems with the Microsoft Surface RT tablet. This one seemed to have more positive reviews so I took a chance. Upon arrival I plugged it into an external monitor and nothing. I was disappointed. Then I noticed the USB extension cable and actually took the time to read the two-page instructions that came with it. I've been told to try connecting to a powered USB port if nothing works without it. I did (actually I used both ports on my iMac

Performed as expected

I bought this to connect my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro to all the old projectors I encounter at work that only support VGA connections. I've only connected it to one projector at the moment, but it worked exactly as expected. There were no issues like flickering or loss of connection. Just plug in and get started. I wish it didn't require USB power simply because it adds another cable to my setup. However, this is not a deal breaker and I believe this purchase was worth the cost. If I notice anyโ€ฆ
