My sister got one of these for our dad and I almost drooled. I bought this radio for several reasons: (1) the price (2) the brand (Midland) (3) I wanted a weather radio with the SAME functionality. (4) due to the fact that it is battery powered. as well as electr. (5 o'clock. I needed a bedside clock and this one fit the bill. Overall I am very impressed with this little radio and very happy with its performance! This is a great item and a great investment, especially if you live in an area with extreme weather. like Tornado Alley. I don't live in Tornado Lane, but trust me, Huntington, West Virginia and the surrounding area gets their fair share of severe thunderstorms, snowstorms, and flooding. than groping in the dark during the event. GET THIS RADIO! At least for their own safety and peace of mind.
