Good radio for the price

Having only recently acquired my WR-100B, I have not had the opportunity to receive a severe weather warning. I think it's good. I just hope he's doing his job when the next tornado warning comes. I really would have many opportunities to hear this radio work if I bought it in the spring. We've had a wild spring/summer here in downtown Illinois! Aside from waiting to hear the real warning in person, the radio is nice and compact, taking up only a small area of my kitchen countertop. To avoidโ€ฆ

To stay updated! Be ready!

My sister got one of these for our dad and I almost drooled. I bought this radio for several reasons: (1) the price (2) the brand (Midland) (3) I wanted a weather radio with the SAME functionality. The radio is small, has great reception (at least here in New England), and best of all, it was easy to program and personalize. You can also set the blue backlight to stay on all the time (although theโ€ฆ

This is the thing to buy - no need to spend anymore

*** Latest update: Hurricane and summer storm weather is coming. I bought this device on 08/18/2008 and today is 04/30/2013. The radio still works and has outlived both the more expensive and manual crank models. It has a backup battery, 3 AA batteries - Duracell is the best brand you can buy. Just make sure to buy your (fresh) batteries well in advance of the storm warning and supplies. NEW UPDATE: Looks like NOAA changed the horn system and this device now turns off after a warning instead of
