I have a Mac Book with a USB-C port. An adapter like this is required to connect peripherals like an external monitor. It also has USB, Ethernet ports, memory card reader and a headphone jack. I daisy chain additional hubs to provide more USB ports. This seems to be working fine. It does get a bit warm during use but I had another similar adapter that did the same thing so I guess it's ok. One caveat: It doesn't seem to support the Apple USB DVD/CD drive. None of my other centers. It only seems to work with an Apple USB C to USB dongle. I recommend it to anyone who needs additional ports on a Mac Book.
