I chose this because I'm used to working on multiple monitors at home and missed my laptop screen when I was traveling. I chose this model for several reasons. 1) it was the closest screen size to my laptop (T490s). 2) didn't attach to my machine with magnets 3) didn't require external drivers 4) didn't cost $500+ I didn't want to spend $250 either, but Revain's flexible return policy made it more convenient. When I received the device I was impressed with the packaging. It comes in a pretty nice box and is well packaged and also comes with 2 cables that you may need to get it working. It wasn't plug and play, but it wasn't rocket science either. While one display connected and worked fairly well via USB-C, it took me a second to figure out how to get the other to work and not make it a duplicate of my main display. I was operational when I decided to read their instructions. My laptop only has two USB-C ports and one of them is power. I was wary of using this for a third screen, but their instructions say it's no problem if you're also using the monitor's power supply. Note that this isn't required for the displays to work, but will improve brightness and battery life. My machine is quite old but without the battery I can run about 2.5 hours without additional displays and 1.25 hours with it. When plugged into mains power (the PSU connects to the monitor) everything works and before I decided to leave it I worked exclusively on my laptop for a few days to make sure my fan isn't burning out or I hate running smaller ones screens to work . I'm fine for what I do (email, spreadsheets, Teams calls, cloud database work). I used a kickstand to elevate my laptop so I can tilt the monitor back for a better viewing angle. . It comes with a stabilizing arm (the weight of that will pull your monitors back the wrong way), and without a riser I don't like the angle I would have to hold the displays. Our experience so far is that there's no real way to protect the screens once they're in your bag other than the dust bag that comes with the display. I don't want the pen or mouse expression to destroy the screen, but so far it hasn't. I wish the manufacturer had included a piece of hard plastic for storage. The way they are folded does not allow them to be folded inwards to protect the screens. My husband hates the way they open and the pull on bracket to attach them to the laptop but I don't mind. Note; He has a Macbook and the displays for him were ready to go as his computer has multiple USB-C ports. Although I usually work with two 27-inch monitors at home, I settled on three for this one. I especially like how I can keep the presentation on the same display during a Teams call; have call controls on the other side and still keep the screen clear in case I need to look at or point to something without breaking "eye contact" with my camera. That. For my photos that I've attached, I paused the YouTube video in the same place on all three screens in full view so you can see the difference in size. All in all not scary. Maybe cheaper? Most likely yes, but for me I felt like it would be worth it if I could use it, so I'm happy with the price I paid.
